Frequently Asked Questions

The compass / wind direction looks wrong. What do I do?

Calibrate the iPhone's magnetometer by moving the device in a figure-8 pattern away from metal objects and electronics. Avoid using the app next to the engine block or large metal frames during ground checks.

Why does the app need background location?

Background location is required to keep recording your flight track, calculate the distance back to your takeoff point, and trigger safety alerts (low fuel, airspace, return-to-home) even if the screen is off or you switch apps mid-flight. Location data stays on your device and is never sent to any server.

Why does the app need Motion & Fitness access?

The app uses the iPhone's compass and accelerometer to show your real-time heading on the HUD, draw the relative wind arrow on the panel, and stabilize the artificial horizon. Example: when your paramotor turns to a heading of 270°, the compass widget shows "W" and the wind arrow rotates to indicate the wind direction relative to your new heading. No fitness, step, or health data is collected.

How do I export a flight track (IGC / GPX / KML)?

Open the Flight History screen → tap a flight → tap the share icon → choose IGC, GPX or KML. The file can be sent via AirDrop, Mail, or saved to Files / iCloud Drive.

The variometer beep is too loud / too quiet.

Adjust the device media volume during flight, or toggle the speaker icon on the main screen to mute. Beep thresholds (climb / sink) can be changed in Settings → Audio.

Live traffic (ADS-B) is not showing aircraft.

Live traffic depends on the public ADS-B network coverage in your area and an active internet connection (mobile data). In remote areas without coverage, no traffic will appear — this is expected behavior, not a bug.

How do I delete my data?

All flight logs, equipment profiles, and emergency contacts are stored locally on your device. To delete everything, uninstall the app from iOS, or open Settings inside the app and tap "Reset all data". Since no data leaves the device, no server-side deletion request is needed.

The SOS / crash detection triggered by mistake.

You have a configurable countdown (default 30 s) to cancel a false alarm before any emergency contact is notified. Adjust sensitivity and contacts in Settings → Emergency.
